Eyewear by Lombia · Johannesburg

Distinctively Different

Not because it is African. Because it is authentically African.

Inspired by African identity. Crafted for the world.

Eyewear with soul

Lombia exists to tell the stories the world has not yet seen. In an industry defined by European heritage, Lombia introduces a new luxury language — one rooted in Africa’s people, places, history, artistry, and future. Every frame is more than an accessory; it is a narrative. A tribute. A conversation between identity and craftsmanship.

Africa’s stories, worn

We look to Africa’s stories

Born in Johannesburg and crafted with world-class precision, Lombia celebrates the richness of African culture through contemporary eyewear design. Each collection carries the names, places, rivers, kingdoms, heroes, and moments that have shaped the continent.

Where other luxury brands look to royalty, architecture, or fashion history for inspiration, Lombia looks to Africa’s stories. The result is eyewear with soul.

The signature

The Y, and the Nguni temple core

At the heart of every frame lies our engraved temple core, carrying the geometric symmetry and ceremonial patterning of Nguni art. The Y in our mark represents convergence — the unity of our people, and the shape of the South African flag.

Cut from Japanese Takiron and Italian Mazzucchelli acetate, each pair is a numbered limited edition — and every purchase funds free eyewear for underserved learners across Africa.

Why we exist

To create world-class eyewear that preserves, celebrates, and shares African stories through exceptional design. We believe stories deserve to live beyond books and museums. They deserve to be worn.

Our mission

To innovate the ordinary through premium eyewear that combines African storytelling, world-class craftsmanship, and purposeful design — while making expressive eyewear more accessible to the world.
